Aspire Center
Mission Statement
Our mission is to help individuals with developmental disabilities develop skills of self-determination by providing resources and creating opportunities.
The ASPIRE CENTER FOR ADOLESCENTS AND ADULTS OF MOAPA VALLEY (ACAAMV) is a non-profit charitable educational organization, providing a multi-faceted program for underserved adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities, residing in the Moapa Valley communities, including those in our local Moapa Paiute Tribe.
Due to geographical limitations of a rural location and lack of available facilities these individuals are not able to participate in most of the currently available private or government programs.
Therefore, ACAAMV is organized to fulfill the mission of helping these individuals develop these skills of self-determination by providing resources and creating opportunities. It is the organization’s mission to promote independence in activities of daily living through real-life application of basic skills such as cooking, hygiene, and vocational tasks.
The organization’s mission will include the development of acceptable social interaction as they involve these individuals in the community through regular outings and participation in local events.
It is further the mission of ACAA to help these individuals aspire to realize their potential and gain confidence in their independence. In this process they will be taught life skills, job skills, assistance in finding work and transport to and from their jobs or post-secondary/trade school.
The ASPIRE CENTER FOR ADOLESCENTS AND ADULTS OF MOAPA VALLEY will give them the intrinsic tools they need to become independent, contributing members of society.
